Introducing the Construction Industry Forum executive
Current chairman of the Construction Industry Forum, Tim is a Chartered Construction Manager with the CIOB as well as Chartered Manager with the Chartered Management Institute. He is a past chair of CIOB Guernsey branch and subcommittee Chairperson for Education for a number of years.
Tim is the co-founder of the Guernsey Property and Construction Awards and believes strongly in promoting the work of the construction industry, its contribution to both the economy and future of the island and the opportunities it provides for varied and interesting careers.
Tim is a strong leader and is closely involved with many of the sub committees of CIF and assists the Executive team members whenever and wherever he can. He has served for a number of years on the CIF team before becoming Chairman in April 2016 in a bid to steer the group through a necessary period of transition.
Olly has worked in the UK and Channel Islands as a Chartered Architect for over 15 years, and has a broad range of project experience ranging from small scale domestic refurbishment and extensions through to multi-million pound public sector and commercial projects.
Olly has a keen interest in education matters and has worked with the States of Guernsey Careers Service and the various trades and professions represented by the Construction Industry Forum on the Guernsey Careers Fair for over 5 years, as well as engaging in the various reviews of Construction related further education opportunities including the Guernsey Apprenticeship Scheme.
Mark is Managing Director of RG Falla Ltd a local building contractor employing over 100 staff and with an annual turnover of £25 million. RG Falla have recently become a Chartered Building Company and Mark has been a Chartered Builder since 2001 and chaired the local CIOB branch in 2004.
Mark is also a Chartered Director and has previously chaired the Guernsey Institute of Directors in 2014 &2015. Mark is a Trustee of a local charity Help a Guernsey Child and has twice chaired the Guernsey Building Trade Employers Association. Mark has also recently become a member of the College of Further Education Board of Governors. He serves on the Political sub-committee of CIF that meets directly with a number of the islands high profile Deputies and Senior Civil Servants.
Dave De La Mare
David established DLM Architects in 2011 and is proud to be one of the few Chartered Architects in Guernsey. He is a member of RIBA whom he represents on the executive committee for the CIF. Graduating in 2003 from Kingston University with First Class Honours he was awarded runner up in the prestigious international RIBA Presidents Medal.
In 2009 David achieved Chartered status with a Distinction in RIBA Part 3 whilst working at ORMS designing and delivering a £20m commercial sports centre for Uppingham School near Leicester.
As a fully Chartered member himself, Grant represents the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists a group for which he also sits on the highly regarded Conduct Committee.
Locally born, Grants career started in Guernsey but took him to Cardiff to work for Capita where he became involved in a £300 million redevelopment of the Royal Derby Hospital and various other healthcare, commercial, retail and industrial projects. Grant is the current Treasurer of CIF and is heavily involved in a number of critical work streams of the group.
Richard joined the Wessex Regional Health Authority (WRHA) as a Trainee Design Engineer in 1980. In 1984, the WRHA sponsored him to do a degree in Environmental Engineering; and he was awarded a first class Honours degree in 1988 with his Final year thesis on Alternative Energy.
He returned to the WRHA until privatisation in 1990. Initially, he joined Medical Design Practice, but after 18 months left to set up a design section within Goldcrest. Within a year, Goldcrest was bought out by Capita; and he became a Director running the 30 strong Southampton office. After 6 years of running the office for Capita, in 1999, he left to set up Henderson Green in Southampton with 2 other partners. In 10 years, with Richard at the helm, Henderson Green grew to a turnover of £2.2m.
In 2010/11, Richard took a 9 month sailing sabbatical to Brazil; and upon his return, he moved with his family to Guernsey to set up a new Henderson Green office there. The office currently has a permanent staff of 4 engineers.
Chris Lovell is a Chartered Surveyor and a Registered Valuer. A qualified member of the General Practice division of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) since 1986,
he gained experience in London in several areas including Auctions, Property Management, Investment and Valuation.
Chris returned to the Island in 1989 to join the family firm which was started by his Great Grandfather in 1879. He has over 25 years experience in the property market in Guernsey and, as a Company Director, he advises many private individuals, Companies and Corporates in Valuation, Investment and Agency roles. Chris is the current Vice Chairman of the Construction Industry Forum.
